Pistol grips do not make a gun do any more or less damage. They do not change any of the fundamentals of how a firearm operates. Why should a rifle with a pistol grip be called an "assault weapon". It's just another way to hold a firearm and should not be "banned for public safety". It is a safe and secure way to hold a gun and is not a threat to the public.
Please take the nonsense out of gun control laws. Don't violate people's second amendment by regulating features in a nonsensical manner. The 90's assault weapons ban was not effective since it was complete nonsense. It was designed to make gun owners angry and test how far the second amendment could be bent under the supreme court of the time.
Try focusing your efforts on opening drug/mental health facilities to reduce violence.
