We would like to respectfully request that President Obama put into motion the creation of a special award for exceptional bravery which results in saving of lives by a civilian. This award should be designated for situations such as natural disasters, mass shootings and terrorist acts in which the designated recipient has faced overwhelming odds.
We also request that this award be bestowed retroactively and posthumously.
A suggested name for this award is "Medal of Civilian Bravery"
