About 70% of the students attending John A. Holmes High School are in poverty and eligible for the free lunch program. The high school just introduce iPads, requiring all students to have an iPad. The iPads are from the Golden Tree Grant. The school is now actually doing everything on the iPads such as homework, tests, projects, etc.. There is a fee of $25 to take the iPad home overnight. Well the fee gives the other 30% of students who are not in poverty, the advantage to get homework done on the iPads. Also there is no charge to leave it at school, meaning the 70% of students can't do there homework on the iPads. Meaning they would be failing a class because they don't have the funding to pay $25. Students who are in poverty should be able to take a iPad home without needing to pay.
