Create a Better School Lunch Program

Created by D.R. on November 14, 2012

The, "Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010" has done little to help the school lunch program. It is said that under this act kids would be getting, "critical nutrition." According to CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention), the percentage of children ages 7-11 who were obese skyrocketed over 13% in less then 30 years. Furthermore, the same percentage increase can be seen with 12-19 year old adolescents. The reason behind this is, school breakfast and lunch is what some kids only get to eat. More so, some parents don't have the time to cook meals, thus they go to a fast food restaurant to provide food for their children. What is it going to be America? Do you want a good, healthy lunch for your children or the industrialized foods made with ingredients you would never want to eat?
