Congress & its representatives should have the same benefits as the American people. Social security & Medicare have problems & are in financial crisis. Long term Congressional members are guaranteed a pension & medical benefits, the American people are not. If Congress & its representatives have to rely on these programs then they will be forced to fix them. By going through the processes they will have the knowledge that they need to identify the problems and fix them. Many Americans are losing their pensions because of the economy so Congress should too.
