Create a Law That Would Require Middle and High School Students to be Educated on Mental Illness in Health Class.

Created by B.M. on May 28, 2015

The United States govornment should pass a law that requires middle and high school students to be educated about mental illness in their health classes. According to the Youth Risk Behavior Survey of 2013, 29.9% of teens felt sad or hopeless everyday for 2 or more weeks in a row (a clear sign of depression), yet only a third of those with depression are even diagnosed and seek help. If teenagers were educated on mental illnesses, then they'd be more likely to know if, according to their symptoms, they should seek medical help.
