Create a Cabinet level position devoted to understanding and preparing for the consequences of severe climate change.

Created by E.F. on September 28, 2011

Severe climate change may well be the single biggest threat to both the U.S and the world's safety and security over the coming decades. In order to address this reality, the government needs to create a Cabinet level position with study and hopefully mitigate this threat.

This Department would be granted adequate funding and authority to study, regulate, and enforce in relation to it's effort to combat the effects of global climate change. A broad based scientific consensus would be used to create policies designed to prepare both the citizens and infrastructure of our nation to best overcome the issues of safety and security raised by climate change.
