create a centralized system for medical billing and records that medical and insurance providers are required to use.

Created by T.P. on February 19, 2013

Establish a centralized billing and medical records system that all medical providers and health insurance providers are required to use. This is not a radical transition into universal health care but a logical step toward making things more manageable. Complex medical situations where multiple providers (possibly from a single hospital) bill individually can result in patients paying more than their maximum annual payment amount and force them into the unenviable task of coordinating between health care and insurance providers. A centralized billing system would simplify this. The U.S. also lags behind nations that have centralized medical records systems. Referrals and moving between medical providers would be much simpler if a system were in place that all providers had access to.
