Create a civil penalties enforcement unit for politicians who make material misstatements and omissions in public forums

Created by J.R. on April 21, 2012

Politicians need to be held accountable for the facts behind their political goals. This needs to be held to a higher standard in light of their influence on legislation.

There needs to be an internally funded unit that imposes civil penalties for inaccurate information (and the ommission of material information). This would put the onus on politicians to give the voters information symmetry.

This unit would be similar to the Securities Exchange Commission's governance of securities (disclosure requirements, etc.)
