Dealing with disruptive students can be frustrating. When teachers yell, scold, and wag their finger at our children, they often see immediate improvement; yet the improvement is temporary and intimidate our children. Teachers and school staff who yell, or scold our children (especially at the cafeteria, during lunch hours) cause the relationship between student/school staff to go downhill; consequently, our children become resentful towards school personnel. It is not only stressful to our children, but also intensifies children's anxiety. Teachers and school staff provide a poor model for our students when they scream at them. How would you feel if you knew your kids/grandkids/loved ones were constantly yelled at while in school premises?
