The petition asks that in both the House and Congress, all bills be limited to one item, to be passed. No other riders or amendments that do not pertain(are unrelated) to the specific bill can be added to the bill.
The purpose of this petition, is to have a clean, unadulterated bill passing that does not allow for other items being passed with it or piggy backed on to it. This hopefully would reduce the size of bills so legislators would read a full bill and also prevent items passing that the public is not aware of. Each bill would be appropriately scrutinized before it was passed. This would create a more open, fiscally responsible government. Hopefully, resulting in a decrease in spending and our deficit.
