The College of the United States of America if created could represent the American dream in its purest form by providing a free education (tuition only) to all who apply at each campus in every state in the union where residents are born and reside. Those who can, pay what they can, and all alumni agree to an infinitesimally small percentage of higher federal income tax for life, which goes back to fund the university.
In order to address the interest of equality and fairness long absent in our society when it comes to education and opportunity, all other costs are divided equally via taxes paid by each and every private institution of higher learning drawing a profit from their student body, and those that drive their students into debt in exchange for the futures they promise.
