College tuition rates have consistently been on the rise since the last two decades baring citizens from pursuit of a education that could allow them to reach their goals, and change their lives for the better.
This petition is meant to show the administration that its time to create a education reform committee chartered in analyzing how todays institutions set tuition rates. This petition is not meant to infringe on the universities liberties, but rather create a conversation on how to make education more accessible.
According to the National Center for Education Statistics Between 2000–01 and 2010–11, prices for undergraduate tuition, room, and board at public institutions rose 42 percent, and prices at private not-for-profit institutions rose 31 percent.
