Create a comprehensive Cyber/Information Security strategy

Advanced persistent threats and state-sponsored cyber attacks have become some of the most dangerous threats to national security in the last decade. With major companies releasing data breach notifications on a nearly daily basis the threat is clear and present that we as a nation are not doing all we can to combat and thwart those threats. While major companies are entrenched in compliance efforts such as PCI (Payment Card Industry) and SOX (Sarbanes Oxley) they are paying little attention to the very large attack surfaces that allow any attacker (foreign or domestic) to infiltrate institutions and then exfiltrate extremely sensitive data.
