We request that the government appoint at least one representative and one senator to represent US Citizens living overseas.
Currently an estimated 8.7 Million US citizens live overseas. These citizens are liable for US federal tax and so should be given proper representation in both Congress and the Senate.
Currently a US Citizen living overseas must contact the representative they had when they were last living in the US. As US citizens living overseas do not make up a large chunk of the voting population in their respective congressional districts and states this means that their concerns and requests are seldom listened to.
We believe that as US citizens living overseas are bound by US federal income tax they should be afforded the representation that goes with that.
