We should be applauding the efforts of our government in keeping us secure since 9/11 instead of worrying about our civil liberties. The government's successfully protected the republic against our adversaries since 9/11 especially when you compare to the prior decade where we saw the USS Cole Bombing, the attack against our embassies in Africa, and the first World Trade Center Bombing. I propose we not only stop criticizing our government, but that we establish a constitutional amendment requiring our government to engage in surveillance to protect the republic against enemies both foreign and domestic. I would propose oversight by both congress and the judiciary and allow the government to solely use such information to thwart attacks or bring perpetrators to justice.
