The United States Federal Government should enact a Constitutional Amendment lowering the federal voting age to sixteen years old.
During each election cycle, the lack of participation by the youth of America has been obvious, and no serious action has been taken to stop this worrying trend. This amendment would not only allow for the young to be more interested in and participate more in our democracy, it would also keep the United States in line with other developed countries that have recognized the potential worth of their youth as well as the problem with excluding many youth from the election process.
