The United States' economic centers are suffering from competition for business on the world scale. Many Americans live in rural areas, unable to be connected to other towns and cities other than by automobile. Air travel gets more expensive year after year due to the rise in oil prices worldwide, causing airlines to lose money when people can no longer consider flying as a form of travel. Cars are slow and expensive. To fix all of these issues, the United States must build a continental rail network to unite towns to cities, provide an inexpensive and seamless mode of transportation for all, reduce the cost of travel, improve national rail cargo shipping, and make the United States a competitive front runner in world infrastructure.
