In conjuncture with other measures, a database should be created that allows officials to moniter how much ammo is bought, what type of ammo is purchased, and by whom. This would allow people to continue to excercise their 2nd Amendment rights while taking steps to curb gun violence in the United States.
Such a database would allow legitimate officals to identify and take appropriate measures towards those who are potential threats to public safety. This would not be a cure all for gun violence, but it would effectivly limit the possibility of gun-related crimes being perpetrated. If possible threats are identified early on, then there is a greater chance that they can be neutralized before any action is taken on thier part which would allow for a safer America to live in.
