Create a Database to Store Every Government Email

Created by C.R. on July 15, 2014

No more "lost" emails.

An official petition to institute permanent and comprehensive storage of all federal electronic correspondence on secure servers to protect critical information, and prevent federal employees from subverting the rule of law or obstructing future investigations of criminal misconduct and abuses of power.

Lois Lerner and subordinates at the IRS, April Sands of the FEC, and various members of the EPA have in recent weeks all revealed "lost" access to emails critical to investigations into misconduct due to hard drive failure. This issue reaches beyond individual guilt or partisan leanings, undermining the security and freedom of the Republic.

Storing all federal emails, while technologically challenging, is trivial in relation to current NSA operations.
