Use military procurement rules to ban contractors who also sell assault weapons to civilians. Use the purchasing power of the military to make them choose between the much larger, and potentially guaranteed, military market and the civilian marketplace. This will have the effect of pushing weapons designed using the latest DoD technology out of public sale.
