In 2006, 88,000 motorcyclists were injured on the highway. A big reason is the regular motorist does not look for motorcycles sharing lanes or just plain doesn't look. If in states where sharing lanes is legal, there was a lane or just enough signs to keep people looking were implemente. The fatality rate would drop exponentially.
