From Columbine to Sandy Hook to the the shootings at Taft Highschool and Price Middle School, clearly something is going wrong in our country.
We need a definitive law that funds and mandates that every school in the nation hire a fulltime school psychologist.
The debate about how to protect our children and ourselves from gun violence often centers on whether we need more or less guns. We know there is no single solution to the problem but this will be a piece of the armor. Along with better gun laws we need to consider every solution we have available to us.
Let's give early help to young people struggling with trauma and mental illness and change the trajectory of these tragedies before they happen.
