Recreate the Office of Technology Assessment as a cabinet-level Federal agency called the Department of Science and Technology Assessment (DSTA). The primary mission of DSTA is to provide objective policy guidance for increasing the benefits of science and technology advances while eliminating/mitigating the negative impacts of science and technology advances. The secondary mission of DSTA is to implement the FuturICT (information and communication technologies) project in the United States (with the appropriate modifications).
