Create a different category of bills that affect the public that can be voted on by the public.

Created by J.A. on February 27, 2012

There are several issues the public should be able to vote for directly. Many bills are sent through the system every year and are shot down or stuck in limbo. Sometimes the reasons for a bill failing is petty politics. Instead of voting in response to the voice of the public, politicians carry out their own agenda. This is a petition to create a new kind of bill to bring back the democracy to our democratic republic. This bill would be classified as a High Impact, Low Urgency Bill as to indicate its relevancy and importance to the public and the lack of need for immediate action. There would be a long voting period (6 months) and a minimum vote count (50% of Americans). Until the minimum count is met the bill will still be up for vote. The government and its laws exist for the citizens.
