We live in a society that celebrates freedom of speech without restriction to logic. Bad arguments and misinformation are all around us and it is up to us individually to decipher what is valid. We elect officials to represent our views before a debate over policies has begun. Unfortunately, we are met with disappointment when we are misrepresented.
A direct referendum from the people of the United States would serve to let the people's voice be heard on events and policies as they happen. This gives the people and our elected officials an opportunity to have an accurate and valid account of the policies before they are voted on.
