Marketers, spammers, and other entities have sunk even lower, by bringing their unscrupulous "business" strategies to the cellular phone and mobile world. American citizens are now receiving unsolicited text messages on their mobile phones.
This is a problem for all cellular phone owners in a number of ways, but not limited to:
1. Unsolicited text messages incur a cost on every cellular phone provider in the country. Not everyone budgets for or chooses to be on an "unlimited" text plan. Unsolicited texts may result in additional, unwanted charges.
2. Certain individuals may be "tricked" by marketers sending a well-worded text asking for personal information. This leaves the door open for con-artists, schemers, and thieves.
3. Fundamental violation of our right to privacy.
