The purpose of this petition is to have people on or trying to receive government living assistance to have to receive and maintain clean drug testing before they can qualify. This would apply to welfare, food stamps, TANF, Medicaid, unemployment, etc...
These programs are sometimes being used by people who cannot receive jobs because of substance abuse problems, and instead of addressing those problems we are encouraging that they continue to abuse both legal and illegal drugs because they can still receive assistance weather they are "using" or not.
This petition is not designed to make people who need assistance unable to receive it.
