With military service providing so much discipline, leadership, management skills and real time problem solving experience, it's a shame active duty military members complete their service with no useful civilian educational equivalent. Many veteran's leave service better prepared to tackle the civilian workforce than most recent college graduates, yet most employers seem to gravitate towards candidates with associates/bachelors degrees. It's time our government and educational organizations offered a better translation of our service members experience and skill sets rather than just using us as a vehicle to suck the federal funds out of our GI Bills! 4 years of active duty service should be worth AT LEAST the equivalent of an associate's degree, if not better.
