The US spends more than almost any other country per capita on Education. However, America does no do well when it comes to education ranking and poor eduction is the primary cause of poverty in the US. Children are bound to poverty because they are assigned a school geographically and cannot attain better education because of their financial status. The reason the schools are poor in the first place is that the market for education is not competitive. Schools do not feel the need to attract students through good education. This can be changed by giving vouchers to parents so that they can decide the schools their children go to. Now schools are incentivized to provide the best education in order to attract student to their school. We can save the education of helpless children in America.
