In honor of the loss of a great student and friend Matthew Kocher due to a lack of knowledge of what to do in a riptide, I propose a survival course in order to prepare for emergencies to be required from all grade levels K-12 in order to prevent tragic loss of life that could possibly be prevented with the right knowledge. Said course would include how to react to situations such as water safety, fire safety, extreme weather safety, forest safety, natural disasters.
