Create equal cuts in foreign aid funds to offset the proposed domestic cuts created by the sequester.

With the impending domestic and defense cuts set to take place on March 1st 2013, our leaders need to consider where their priorities are. According to the White House's own reports, our nation spent over $49b in total foreign economic and military assistance aid in 2011. That is nearly half of the proposed sequester cuts that are set to take place. Our leaders need to look to the needs of it's own citizens before those of other nations. A proposal should be made that cuts all but the most vital of humanitarian foreign aid before any cuts to American security and social welfare programs are considered. Creating potential leaks in border and airport security and cutting aid to the state governments should be unacceptable when foreign nations are receiving billions of dollars in aid.
