This petition has been formed to help same- sex couples have the same opportunity to adopt children as heterosexual couples. The current policies for this issue vary from state to state, so federal laws needs to be put in place to help protect the couples and families across the country. We hope that the Obama administration can propose laws to congress that could will end discrimination towards same- sex couples in the adoption process. This will also benefit orphans by giving them permanent homes.
