Dear Mr. President,
Thank you for your recent efforts to reduce wage gaps in the private sector due to race and/or gender.
I would request that your Administration work with the federal agencies to reduce wage gaps within the U.S. Government.
For instance, I am a non-Caucasian female working at the US Dept of State. I earn $16,000 dollars less than my colleague who is a Caucasian female. We both started the same day, same position, same office, same city over 5 years ago.
There is no method for me to receive salary adjustment or request back pay. I can't ask HR or Office of Civil Rights because it's unclear who can take action and keep confidentiality.
This would set an excellent example for the private sector, and the world. Thank you for your consideration to this important matter
