create an executive order requiring members of congress and their spouses to release their tax returns.

Created by J.K. on July 20, 2012

While so much attention is being paid to the tax information of the two individuals running for President, there are 535 members of the House of Representatives and the Senate that are far more instrumental in passing the laws that citizens of this country must follow. Included in these laws are the tax code, which determines how much money each citizen must surrender to the Federal Government, and the annual budget, which maps how those funds will be spent. To ensure impartiality and locate potential conflicts of interest, sign an executive order mandating that members of congress and their spouses release their tax returns. Doing so will allow the people to see how and where members of congress make their money, and how this may or may not influence how they cast votes and craft bills.
