This petition insists the president create new executive powers to take all steps necessary to end America's contribution to climate change 100%. The White House recently sent an email detailing President Obama's plan for an Energy Security Trust that would tax oil companies a mere two-hundred million dollars a year for ten years to fund alternative energy research. We don't have ten years, and we need far more investment in R&D! All reputable climate scientists say we are already beyond the tipping point for catastrophic effects of climate change if we don't stop 100% of greenhouse gas release now. We are on war footing against climate change, our most lethal enemy ever. Lincoln, Wilson, FDR, and W. Bush claimed far reaching executive war powers. Mr. Obama, do so for climate change!
