The United States embargo with Cuba has proved to be ineffective in achieving its goal of liberating the Cuban people. While we commend the long-standing position of the US government to oppose the tyranny of the Castro regime, we believe that it is time for some realistic change. Cuban cigars are a unique product that we believe Americans have a right to enjoy and are an unnecessary casualty to an unrelated political conflict. After over 50 years, we believe that it is fully reasonable for the United States to create an exemption on cigars imported from Cuba.
