Create fair access to the labor market for disadvantaged Americans

Created by G.B. on March 31, 2014

Unpaid internships throughout the US hamper access to countless industries for individuals who cannot afford months of unpaid work. This system perpetuates unequal access to many sectors, like our federal legislative bodies and media companies, causing inequality between the rich and the poor to grow. Worse, because of this, we lose incredible minds and talent to menial work.

America’s Future Workforce fights inequality by placing disadvantaged people into internships and providing them with stipends to cover their cost of living and transportation fees. We want the White House to prioritize and support programs such as America’s Future Workforce to provide more equitable access to internships, on-the-job training, and fair access to the labor market for disadvantaged Americans.
