When a catastrophe event occurs it can affect millions of Americans' homes and property within a very short amount of time. This devestation can cause local contractors to become overloaded and unable to respond to assist the majority of those affected. Unfortunately due to varying state laws, there are cases where contractors from other states are not able to assist due to current licensing laws in place by the affected state. Therefore this petition is to request the creation of a Federal licensing system that can be activated and engaged by FEMA to supercede state requirements to assist in areas hit with major catastrophe events in order to quickly respond to the needs of impacted Americans.
