Create a federal database of marriages, divorces, and annulments accessible at any states registrar.

Created by D.B. on April 08, 2013

Enforcing and maintaining a federal marriage database will afford an unsuspecting fiancé the entire marital history of his or her potential spouse, and furthermore would eliminate bigamy. This could also potentially decrease divorce rates, and family court backlogs. Currently there isn't any standardization on marriage, divorce, and annulments, and in some states each county may maintain and have exclusive access their database. If someone has been married 5 times, their potential spouse has the right to know.
