No one is above the law – not even those who enforce it. Since 2012, there have been 1,793 deaths by the acts of law enforcement officials. Although some of these deaths were warranted by self-defense or the like, the purpose of this petition is to create a Federal Department of Internal Affairs within the FBI to investigate acts where law enforcement officials have committed acts outside of the law they were tasked to enforce that violate the civil liberties they were tasked to defend.
We the People ask of the Administration to take this step to end acts of police brutality so we can live safely from those who are supposed to defend us.
