The LGBT community has been fighting the battle for over a decade now. These people deserve the same rights as anyone else, and that is the right to marry someone they love even if they are of the same gender. It is now 2014 the majority of Americans support the LGBT community and yet only 17 states allow them the same rights!
It is insane that America is considering not giving everyone equal rights. That is what America stands for! We are a role model for other countries, we need to do the right thing.
This is not a matter of religion. Religion plays no role in law making. Rather this is a matter of what is right and what America is supposed to stand for, equal rights for everyone. In a matter of decades our descendants will look back and be ashamed. Just as we do to ours with slavery.
