Create a federal law that mandates ALL Judges have a degree in law and a minimum of 10 years in a law profession.

If a judge is going to have the power to sentance people to prison or impose fines he/she should at least have knowledge of and experiance in the law field. I believe that our Judges should fully know and understand the laws of this country and of their state. How can a person find you guilty and impose punishment if that person does not know the laws? American citizens deserve to be served by knowledgable and experianced professionals in our court rooms. These men and women hold the freedom of all Americans in their hands; I find it difficult to see how someone with no knowledge of the laws can have the power to take away someones freedom by sending them to jail, prison, impose fines or inflict any punishment without knowing the laws.
