I propose a federal level zero tolerance law for owning an illegal gun. There is no legal justification for allowing illegal (aka unregistered) guns within the US.
Anyone found owning an unregistered or illegal gun should be faced with a sentence of life long imprisonment.
There is no purpose or rational which can ethically or morally allow the existence of illegal unregistered guns.
