We as a nation are horrified by the violence that has occurred in this country in the last few years.
We do not agree on the fix, or the cause in many cases, but as Americans we all agree that something needs to change, something needs to be done to try and stop the next Newton or Aurora from happening.
One thing we can agree upon is that if an appropriately trained and armed person had been at Newton things would have been over quickly with a very different outcome.
We cannot afford to place police at every school, mall or movie theater in the country, but we do have a vast untapped wealth of highly skilled and trained veterans who walk among us.
Grant them, if they choose, the option of a federal level CCW permit. They have the training, the skills and the discipline needed.
