Create a Federal Office of Familial Affairs to study how families are fairing in the US, issue policy recommendations, and require that each piece of federal legislation include a Family Impact Statement to show how families would be affected if it were to pass, much like the Environmental Impact Statement they are required to create.
The newly created Federal Office of Familial Affairs would use Dr. Diana Pearce's Self-Sufficiency Standard to make recommendations on everything from Temporary Assistance to Needy Families to student loans.
