The previous presidential election featured blatant attempts to suppress voting through unjustified purges of voter rolls, decreases in early voting availability, new and onerous voter ID laws, and misleading communications from election officials obviously intended to prevent citizens from exercising their right to participate in our democracy. Please enact federal standards and oversight so that partisan local and state officials may no longer engage in such heinous abuses against our citizens and our democracy. Make attempts at voter suppression a federal crime.
