Create a federal policy to offer ex-offenders of non-sexual and non-violent crimes expungement rights.

Created by J.S. on September 06, 2012

Ex-offenders suffer from a legal disability. All state and federal jobs and bonding are denied them. Job applications checked yes for conviction of a crime, become File 13. Housing and credit agencies most often deny them rights. Many ex-offenders are ones who made a mistake at age 18 or before 21and most crimes are related to marijuana, DUI, etc. These people serve their sentence, better themselves with college degrees, only to learn that all doors to professional employment are barred. Many have waited 15 or more years for decent pay/professional job opportunity, but none are available because expungement is denied to them. Approximately half of the states, offer expungement. Our President helped illegal immigrants get rights. He should pass policy for expungement ASAP.
