Create a federal program that offers free and easily accessible Suboxone treatment for people with opioid dependancy

Created by D.D. on December 23, 2013

Opioid dependance is a very real and prevalent public health issue that effects millions of Americans every day. Unfortunately, this is a public health issue that is still considered by many to be nothing more than personal weakness and criminal behavior. The reality is, there are underlying catalysts of opioid dependance that go all the way to the human molecular level that actually makes this a disease. Fortunately, modern advances in medicine have produced a drug called Suboxone as a cure. It works at the molecular level by covering and blocking the opioid receptors. If widely dispersed in a responsible yet accessible manner with other treatment methods, I believe we can finally cure this disease, and with it significantly lower our crime and incarceration rates.
