Juvenile treatment facilities are often used as a solution for "troubled" teenagers. They stamp out the natural personalities of teens - many of whom have mental disorders requiring actual treatment - using processes that are not only medically unsound, but downright abusive. Children are kidnapped without their knowledge, and, their rights having been given up by their parents, subjected to verbal, mental, physical, and sometimes sexual abuse for weeks or even months. Deaths have been recorded - an average of one per year. Communication with the outside world is monitored, so not even their parents know the extent of the abuse.
